Leader of Majority in the National Assembly Amos Kimunya has lauded recommendations in the BBI report, saying it has taken into account the ignored plight of the Mt Kenya region .
Speaking at a meeting between a section of Mt Kenya leaders in with Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga , Kimunya said that the community would back the report to the last man.
“We do recognize our past marginalisations and the gains from the BBI Initiative , and we will stand with the process man to man.”
This follows the pronouncements of Senate Majority Chief Whip Irungu Kangata that the referendum bill that is set to be published has recommendations that would empower farmers growing cash crops such as Tea and Coffee.
The launching of the collection of signatures will commence tomorrow as the government seeks to rush to keep up with the timelines set up for the referendum.
