Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura has cast aspersions on the authenticity of the BBI report that is available to the public online as a fake and significantly different from the one that was launched at Bomas of Kenya.
“The BBI that was widely circulated online is different from the one that was launched at the Bomas Of Kenya.” Isaac Mwaura said in an interview.
Isaac said that he was shocked to encounter a different document at the Bomas of Kenya , after reading a 200 page document that was in circulation online even prior to the launch.
This is what he says informed his decision to rally the Association with People with Disabilities to reject the report.
The Nominated Senator said that the most glaring contradictions was on matters representation.
“If you look at Article 97A of the online edition, it proposes 290 electoral seats with 70 additional party seats. However, the actual printed document accomodates multiple people per some particular posts.”
Mwaura who lauded the report said that the recommendations proposed were not up to bar with the expectations of the kenyan people .
Mwaura was confident that the report would be amended inorder to accomodate everyone and avoid a divisive referendum so close to the elections.
The Nominated Senator also said that the Constitution of Kenya was non-partisan and belonged to all Kenyans ; therefore it has to accomodate all views from all Kenyans.
There has been a debate on whether to amend the BBI report to capture the views of groups that feel left out with some saying that the BBI was a document that has undergone rigorous public participation with no need for amendments.
