Gunmen attacked a school in Cameroon and opened fire over the weekend killing several children and wounding more.
The raid occured on Saturday in Kumba, an Anglophone town in the South West region of Cameroon . Eye witness accounts detail how the gunmen arrived on motorbikes dressed as civilians.
Cameroonian Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute condemned the attack as a ” dastardly act of wickedness” and promised that the country ” would not bow down to terror”.
No group has claimed responsibility, though local authorities have pointed an accusing fingeer at the Separatist armed groups operating in the region.
The separatist have mounted an insurgency for the past 4 years agitating for a separation from the Franco-phone dominated Central government in Yaounde.
