Deputy President William Samoei Ruto has given the clearest indication yet that he is not ready to cede Jubilee Party as he is keen on wrestling it from those he has branded as “conmen” and “busy bodies” that have hijacked the party.
Speaking to Citizen’s TV Joe Ageyo , Deputy President Ruto said that people should expect acrimony and divergent views , as he took more responsibility as the Deputy Party Leader to prepare it for its future, possibly in 2022.
” I will be making many more trips to Jubilee Headquarters because we need to prepare the party for the future. There will be people talking as we are running a huge party and there are people who will have divergent ideas, but we are cut for the job and we will manage the issues of the party.” Ruto said.
Ruto has severally been contradicted publicly by his juniors in the Jubilee Party who have accused him of trying to usurp President Kenyatta and make him a lame duck President.
Ruto was just recently in the eye of a storm after he stormed the Jubilee Party headquarters in October with 38 of his allies when the President was out of the country on official duties.
He earned a tongue lash from Jubilee’s party Sec Gen Raphael Tuju who warned Ruto to be patient and control his thirst for power as the Jubilee Part Secretariat only served one President at a time.
Ruto , who is keen to succeed his boss Uhuru Kenyatta is expected to make his novel stab at the Presidency in 2022 and has since fashioned a movement he calls Hustler Nation after his own story of rags to riches.
